• CEBAssist App

(collectively referred to as "the Apps").

Ceylon Electricity Board ("CEB"), and its successor entity Electricity Distribution Lanka (Pvt) Ltd ("EDL"), (collectively referred to as "we", "our", or "us") are responsible for the operation and management of these Apps.

These Apps are intended for use by authorized staff and customers, depending on the application, and this Privacy Policy outlines how information is handled when using these Apps.

By using any of these Apps, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

The Apps do not collect or store personal or sensitive user data beyond what is strictly required for electricity service operations.

• Electricity meter readings

• GPS/location data (for operational purposes such as meter reading, fault handling, and field service validation)

• Collected strictly for official electricity service operations
• Securely transmitted to CEB/EDL controlled systems (including CEBAssist platform)
• Not shared with unauthorized third parties

Under no circumstances is operational data (such as meter readings or customer account data) transmitted to external third-party systems outside CEB/EDL-controlled environments.

2. Log Data

The Apps may collect limited technical information ("Log Data") in the event of an error or system issue.

This Log Data may include:

• Device model and operating system version
• App configuration at the time of use
• Date and time of usage
• Error logs and diagnostic information

This information is used solely for troubleshooting and improving system performance.

3. Third-Party Services

The Apps may utilize trusted third-party services such as Google Play Services for essential functionality.

These services may collect limited technical data as per their own privacy policies.

Important:

• No customer data, meter data, or sensitive operational data is shared with these third-party services
• All critical operational data remains within CEB/EDL systems

We are committed to ensuring the security of all data handled through the Apps.

Measures include:

• Use of enterprise platforms such as CEBAssist

While we implement industry-standard safeguards, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Therefore, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

The Apps may contain links to external websites.

These sites are not operated by CEB or EDL. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such external sites. Users are advised to review their privacy policies separately.

6. Children's Privacy

The Apps are not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect data from children. If such data is identified, it will be deleted promptly.
